Turning Walls into Stories: ArtDialogo Asia at Surin International School

Artdialogo Asia recently had the pleasure of leading a mural-painting session at Surin International School, Kuala Lumpur, where students, educators and facilitators came together to turn a shared wall into a shared story. Over the course of the session, students explored colour, pattern and symbolism, contributing their own ideas to a mural that reflected collaboration, imagination and community.

What made this experience especially meaningful was watching young people take ownership of the space: discussing ideas with one another, experimenting freely, and learning how individual expressions can come together to form something larger. The mural was not just about painting a wall, but about creating a moment of dialogue through art, where creativity became a way of connecting, listening and building confidence. We’re grateful to Surin International School for opening their campus and trusting art as a tool for learning, expression and collective growth.
